How to Use Genesis

Helping your child grow as a learner and providing them with the tools to build a successful future is a partnership between our staff and your family.  As we build our partnership, communication is essential to guiding your child’s growth and development as a life-long learner.   To help with that communication we urge you to utilize Genesis.

Genesis is a powerful tool that will allow you to consistently view your child’s grades, attendance, and schedule via the internet. 

Each teacher strives to update their grades in Genesis at least once a week and we encourage you to view your child’s grade on a regular basis.

If you have not yet registered for a Genesis account, please complete the attached form and bring it in to the main office to register.  You must bring a photo ID to complete your registration.  (You can also complete the form and return it to the main office along with a photocopy of your driver’s license.)

If you already have a Genesis account you can follow these steps to access, and utilize, Genesis:

  • Log onto the school website:
  • Use menu to select "Resources for Parents" Click on "Genesis for Parents."  (This will open up a new window for the parent login.)


  • Once you've received your parent login you'll log in from this page.
  • Once logged in your child's course schedule will show on the screen.
  • Use the blue toolbar at the top of the screen to access standardized test scores (Assessments), Attendance, marking period and interim report grades (Grading), current marking period grades in all classes (Gradebook).
  • Once in the gradebook, to view grades for individual assignments, click on either the current grade (shown as percent) or the blue class title link.



If you already have a Genesis account but cannot remember you login information you can request to have your password reset by clicking on the “Forgot My Password” link on the login page.  You can also email Jonathan Johnson at for assistance.
