Course Overview:

Our primary goal is to develop proficiency in the skills of Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening, and Language to ensure that our students are Career and College Read
y. Students will study a variety of literature including Warriors Don't Cry by Melba Patillo Beals,    Anne Frank by Anne Frank, The Pact by Davis, Sampson :Jenkins, George and Frederick Douglas: The Story Behind An American Friendship by Russell Freedman. 

 Available For Students:

7:45 to 8:15 am most mornings
3:10 to 4:00 Tuesdays to Fridays

Required Materials:

2  English Language Arts Notebooks
Writing Utensils
2 Folders 

Grading Policy:
Homework - 10 %
Class Participation- 15 %
Test- 30 %
Quiz - 25 %
Project - 20 %

Class Rules:

1. Arrive to class everyday on time and  be prepared to work.

2. Respect yourself and your fellow classmates.

3. Raise your hand to ask/answer a question; refrain from talking as others speak.

4. Follow all school rules, as outlined in the student's  agenda book.
