Classroom Rules, Policies, and Procedures

 

Rules:

Be seated and working when the bell rings.

  1. Treat each person with respect and dignity.
  2. Bring all required books and materials with you and take them with you when you leave.
  3. Follow all directions.
  4. Follow all rules and guidelines in the student agenda book (no cell phones, gum chewing, etc.).
  5. The bell does not dismiss the class, the teacher does.

Consequences:

     1st Offense:  Verbal warning

     2nd Offense:  Contact home

     3rd Offense:  Detention

     *Severity Clause: If your behavior is extreme, the consequence will be extreme.

 

Policies and Procedures:

Tardy:

  • When a student arrives tardy to class without a pass, they are to quietly sign in on the tardy sheet and join the without disturbing others.
  • If a student is continually late to classes, a conference with the student, parent/guardian, and the teachers will be scheduled.If the tardiness continues, administrative action will take place.
  • If a student is late by 10 minutes or more, without a pass, it will be considered a cut and will result in a detention.
  • All students will follow the tardy consequences as stated in the Agenda Book.

Bathroom:

  • Once given permission, the student will sign out and take the correct pass with him/her to the bathroom.
  • Upon his/her return to class, the student will return the pass and sign in.
  • The bathrooms are not to be used Period 1, Period 9, or during the first or last ten minutes of a class.

 

 

Homework:

  • Each student must have two homework buddies that they can contact for homework assignments.
  • All homework assignments can be found online on each teacher’s class page.To visit class pages, go to www.roselleschools.org and click on Grace Wilday Junior High School.Then click on class pages and select the subject area and teacher of the page you would like to view.
  • All handouts/worksheets will be kept available to students in an assigned location in each classroom.

Absences:

  • Students will receive two days to complete all missed work for every day they are absent.
  • All handouts/worksheets will be available to students upon their return in an assigned location in each classroom.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to make up the work and turn it in on time.
